Orégano beneficios y contraindicaciones para la salud
El orégano es un pequeño arbusto que forma parte de la familia de las mentas, puede llegar a medir un máximo de un metro de altura, el tallo tiene una forma cuadrada que presenta un tono rojizo, es muy ramificado y las hojas tienen una forma ovalada. Las flores son pequeñas de color rosado o blanco, toda la planta tiene un aroma muy agradable que se puede sentir con solo tocar alguna parte del orégano.

Beneficios del orégano
Analgésico natural
El orégano se ha utilizado por décadas para el alivio de dolores propios de la menstruación, dolores musculares, el dolor de oído y muelas.
Elimina problemas digestivos
Esta planta contiene sustancias como borneol, carvacrol que se encargan de aliviar problemas del estómago, alivia los cólicos y permite mejorar la digestión de los alimentos.
Combate reacciones alérgicas
Aunque no es fácil de creer, el orégano es un potente antihistamínico que ayuda a aliviar las reacciones alérgicas provocadas por la rinitis o sinusitis. Para despejar las vías respiratorias se recomienda inhalar el vapor que produce la preparación del orégano.
Ayuda a fortalecer los huesos
Se debe a que el orégano contiene grandes cantidades de vitamina k, hierro y calcio que son esenciales para la buena salud ósea, su consumo puede ayudar a prevenir la osteoporosis.
Acción antibiótica
Se cree que el orégano es la planta con efecto antibiótico más potente que puede existir pues contiene grandes cantidades de polifenoles que pueden eliminar infecciones ya desarrolladas y las bacterias que provocan las infecciones.
Depura el hígado
Con el consumo del orégano no solamente se puede eliminar las toxinas que se alojan en el hígado si no que también mejoran la salud de este órgano principal y aporta cantidades esenciales de minerales al cuerpo.
Combate la gastritis
Las personas con gastritis deben empezar a incluir el orégano en su dieta para comenzar a aliviar los síntomas que genera esta condición y regenerar el daño causado en el tejido del estómago.
Cómo tomarlo
Infusión
En un recipiente colocamos una cucharadita de orégano, añadimos agua recién hervida y dejamos infusionar por 5 minutos. Colamos y servimos. Se recomienda consumir 3 tazas al día.
Contraindicaciones
- No se debe consumir orégano durante el embarazo y la lactancia.
- Se debe dejar de consumir orégano dos semanas antes de alguna cirugía.
- No se recomienda el consumo de orégano si se está en tratamiento con anticoagulantes o antidiabéticos.
